ARTIST LIFE CAN BE VERY BUSY AND IT IS TIME FOR ME TO RECHARGE MY BATTERIES… I AM SORRY IF YOU DID NOT GET HERE ON TIME I WILL FOR SURE HAVE MORE OF THOSE IN THE FUTURE.
Samples are just such a necessary evil of Artist life, more you test and better your art becomes. I am obsessed with perfect results… and gradually my stash of samples becomes bigger with every month going past. I only use beautiful material, chiffon silk, hand woven cotton, rami, hemp… and natural dyes some which I grow on “The Indigo plot” my natural dye garden in Glasgow. All samples are well washed and finished and ready to be used.
They are a perfect present for a textile lover or a collage addict. Selling my studio boxes allows me to make sure the lovely material I use for teaching is not wasted. I will donate the proceed to “The Indigo Plot” upkeep costs.
So every year lovingly I offer a selection of my samples to stitchers, quilters and mixed media maker… In studio boxes I pass them on to lovely people.. who will make lovely things with them.

IN EACH STUDIO BOX YOU WILL FIND….
Each box is unique and full of wonderful samples of natural fabrics so you will receive a pack similar to the one below, in each you will find:
- 6 pieces of Eco textile (various sizes approx 15 x 20 cm) , I personally dyed or printed them. Indigo dyed with the Indigo I grew in my dye garden this summer, Eco-printed using local leaves and in some case Cotinus leaves. I use chiffon silk, natural linen, hemp, recycled linen, organic cotton, silk velvet. I dye them with natural dyes and use home made tannins as a background to my eco prints.
- 3 pieces of Eco-printed art paper (size approx 15 cm x 30 cm) using the methods I teach in my online and in person classes. They are Fabriano print making paper steamed or simmered with backgrounds of Sapan wood, Logwood, cochineal or tannins and local leaves.
- There will be at least one “The true colour of the Cotinus” piece in each box.
- One piece Indigo dyed with pigment grown on “The Indigo Plot” in Glasgow.
They will be wonder pieces to use in small projects on collages.
Each kit will be hand packed and sent between 27th and 29th of November. They will be posted first class in the UK or tracked for overseas.
